So, a lot has happened since my last post, kids and kittens.
I spent Wednesday night rewriting my resume. It went from this huge font laden amalgam with what can only be described as an “inspired” layout to a plain text ASCII standard notepad kickout. I sent it to 1 (one) place and was called Thursday morning. It seems that ASCII is the way to go, yo. If you know how to hold down the space key, pull an asterisk bullet or make a line of dashes you know how to make yourself into a paper king.
The interview went as all interviews go with me – an hour later I had an offer (a pretty sweet little package for a 22 yr old, I have been told) and 20 minutes after that I took it. I will have to leave the crew, though – and that sucks, as we were getting pretty close. I mean it, I have bruises. I have promised them my weekends for a while, so B can have a day off until griffin gets settled in. Oh, yeah, I got my friend out of the soul sucking rodeo shark and into my old jeaorb.
So – I am on what seems to be a career path. Heh. My new jeoaoerb should afford me a nice little hep pad, the repairs required for femka(my car), bills and savings with some left over for fun. Ok, a good amount left over for fun.
I fully plan on working my arse off for this company – they seem like they are on the way to something pretty amazing, and I’d like to be a part big part of it.
We registered the domain for the production company, and I should have something up there in a few days – I’ll log the film progress from there, and post a TON of pictures and behind the scenes footage.
AMAZING NEWS:
————-
We have secured an AMAZING artist for our soundtrack. I will be working *very* closely (well, as closely as I can with him in Brisbane and me in Detroit) with him to create a new sound for my images. I have had quite a few people ask why I would need someone to work on the soundtrack, as I am a composer myself. It is because he has a sound that I would never have been able to come up with. Granted, I could come up a a lot – but it just isn’t my personality to lean toward the kind of sound he is so very very good at – and *that* sound is my picture. We are all very happy to have him working on this project and I think his contribution will be one of the deciding factors in the future of my film career. Listen to his digs, you’ll like, I promise.
